1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, information we collect automatically when you use our Service, and information from third parties.
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and password.
- Profile Information: Photos, biography, occupation, shift schedules, gender, preferences, and other details you choose to add.
- Verification Data: If you request verification as a first responder, we collect photos of your professional ID, badge, or certification documents.
- Location Data: With your permission, we collect your precise geolocation to show you potential matches nearby.
- Usage & Device Data: IP address, device type, operating system, app activity (swipes, matches, time of use), and chat messages securely routed through our servers.
2. How We Handle Verification Data
We take the handling of professional credentials extremely seriously.
- Verification documents (like department IDs or badges) are used solely by our manual review team to verify your occupational status.
- These documents are not displayed on your public profile.
- Once your account is verified (or rejected), the images of your credentials are permanently deleted or securely obfuscated from our active databases within 72 hours. We only retain a cryptographic hash or a flag indicating that you passed verification.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate, improve, and protect our platform, specifically to:
- Create and manage your account and profile.
- Connect you with other users based on compatibility, location, and shift schedules.
- Process your verification requests.
- Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
- Enforce our Terms of Service, monitor the Responder Lounge, and protect the safety of our users.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following ways:
- With Other Users: The information you put on your profile (photos, bio, verified status) is visible to other users.
- With Service Providers: We use trusted third parties to help operate our services (e.g., cloud hosting, customer support tools, analytics). These providers are bound by strict data protection agreements.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if reasonably necessary to comply with a legal process (e.g., a subpoena or court order), investigate fraud, or protect the safety of our users or the public.
5. Data Security & Retention
We employ robust, industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. We retain your profile and usage data for as long as you have an active account. If you choose to delete your account, your profile will immediately become invisible to other users, and your personal data will be purged from our systems in accordance with our deletion protocols, except where retention is required by law.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information directly within the app.
- Request the deletion of your account and associated data via the app settings.
- Withdraw consent for location tracking through your device settings at any time (though this will limit core app functionality).
