How to earn your verified responder badge and why it matters.

The FireMatch verified badge is more than just a cosmetic icon—it’s the backbone of our community. Because our app caters specifically to high-trust professions, we manually review credentials to ensure that the people claiming to be first responders actually are.

How to Get Verified

Step 1: Snap It

Go to your Profile settings and tap "Verify Occupation." Take a clear photo of your official ID or credentials.

Step 2: Selfie Check

Take a real-time selfie holding the ID next to your face so our team can match it to your profile photos.

Step 3: Wait for Review

Our admin team manually reviews submissions. You'll receive a notification within 24–48 hours with your verified status.

Acceptable Documents

To ensure the integrity of the verification process, we only accept official documentation. Please ensure your name, face (if applicable), and department/agency name are clearly visible.

  • Department / Agency ID Card Must be current and unexpired. This is the most preferred method of verification.
  • State Certification / License For example, an active state EMT/Paramedic license, Nursing license (RN, BSN), or Medical Board certification.
  • Military ID (CAC) or DD-214 For active duty or veterans. Note: Please obscure or redact any sensitive barcodes or social security numbers before capturing the photo.

What About Civilian Accounts?

If you are not a first responder but are using the app to date one, you do not need to provide occupational verification. However, civilian accounts are still required to undergo a standard Photo Verification (a real-time selfie match) to prove you are a real person and not a bot or catfisher.

Your Privacy is Protected

We know your credentials are sensitive. Your ID photos are never displayed on your public profile. They are securely transmitted to our review dashboard, viewed only by authorized admins, and then immediately obfuscated or deleted from our active servers once your verified badge is granted.
